Lifetime Warranty

Lifetime warranty

Every iPad repair, covered for life

Every screen and part we fit is covered against manufacturing and fitting defects for as long as you own the iPad — not just for a few months. Here's exactly what that means in practice.

What's covered

Screens & parts, for life

If a screen or part we fit later develops a fault due to a manufacturing or fitting defect — even years down the line — we'll replace it free of charge. This covers the original parts and labour in full.

Batteries, for 12 months

Batteries naturally degrade over time, so day-to-day capacity loss isn't covered. If a battery we fit drops below 70% health within 12 months of fitting, though, it's covered for replacement.

What isn't covered

  • Accidental damage after the repair — for example the screen being dropped, cracked, or split. Internal LCD screens that flash, are blank, or have coloured or black lines are also not covered, as this indicates an internal broken LCD screen from physical damage.
  • Water damage or liquid ingress — if your iPad already has water damage when we carry out another repair, that repair isn't covered either
  • Dirt or dust ingress — devices aren't fully sealed, so this can happen naturally over time
  • Data loss — please back up your iPad before we arrive
  • Normal battery capacity loss over time, outside of the 12-month/70% guarantee above
  • Software issues unrelated to the original repair, or problems caused by an iPadOS update
  • Any damage resulting from attempted repairs by the customer or another repair company

If something goes wrong

1

Tell us within 24 hours

Let us know by text, email, or in writing within 24 hours of noticing the fault. Leaving it longer than this will void your warranty.

2

Stop using the iPad

Continuing to use it can cause further damage and will void your warranty claim, so please set it aside until we've been in touch.

3

Don't let anyone else open it

We need to be the only ones to inspect or disassemble the iPad to diagnose the fault — that includes Apple or any other repairer. Any third-party disassembly voids the warranty.

4

Have your invoice ready

We'll need the original invoice from your repair (issued from Repair Bristol LTD, with your iPad's serial number on it) to process the claim.

The finer details

Device Testing Report

When we pre-test an iPad before the repair, repair the device, and then test it again after the repair, we produce a testing report showing the full condition of the iPad. This is emailed to you after the repair. This report is the basis on which the lifetime warranty is given, and you'll need to produce it if you ever need to make a warranty claim.

How does the claims process actually work?

Within the first 30 days of your repair, we can send an engineer out to inspect the fault in person, the same way we carried out the original repair. After 30 days, warranty claims are handled at our head office rather than on-site, since some faults need specialist testing equipment to diagnose — including sensors that can detect drops or impacts. Sending your iPad to us is quick, and once it's tested and repaired (if it's confirmed as a warranty fault) it's typically returned to you the next working day.

Is there a limit to how many times I can claim?

Yes — warranty repairs and replacements are limited to one claim during the lifetime of the iPad for each original repair.

What proof do I need to make a claim?

When we first repair your iPad, we email you an invoice and a device testing report showing the work carried out, the full condition of the iPad, and its serial number. You'll need to present both at the time of any warranty claim, and the invoice must be issued from either Michael Irwin T/A Repair Bristol or Repair Bristol LTD for us to honour it.

Does the warranty cover the whole iPad, or just the part you replaced?

The warranty covers the original repair itself — the specific part and the labour to fit it — against manufacturing and fitting defects. It doesn't extend to unrelated faults elsewhere on the iPad that weren't part of the original repair.

Got a question about a specific repair or fault? Get in touch and we'll talk you through it.
